Impact Extrusion is a versatile forming process
used to create thinwall seamless hollow shapes by a rapid single stoke
application of force through a punch. This process has many advantages
over conventional production methods such as casting and machining,
saving on secondary operations, reducing waste material, reducing
cycle times and offering tight tolerances over diameters and lengths.
•
The market applications for Impact Extrusions
are vast - for example:
• Defence/Pyrotechnics
• Electrical/Electronic
• Corporate gift packaging
|
• Automotive
• Speciality packaging
• Medical |
• Marker
pens/Auto touch up
• Promotional packaging
• Technical/Industrial |
•
An extensive range of extrusion presses enables
Ashfield to offer diameters from 5mm up to 120mm in many shapes and
forms.
•
In house CNC machining, sub assembly and 4 colour offset printing
are also part of Ashfield's extensive capabilities.
•
A wide variety of aluminium grades are used for Impact extrusion ranging
from 99.7% purity through 1200, 1100, 3000, & 6000 series.
•
Other suitable metals can be considered on request.
